Man's Winding Road Leads Only To More Winding Road
Twenty-one years. A testament, one might argue, not to prescience, but perhaps to sheer, unyielding digital persistence. Our esteemed purveyor of economic analysis has evidently traversed a significant portion of the internet’s long and winding information superhighway, only to arrive, it seems, at yet another winding road. The journey, we are informed, began with a particularly "bearish" outlook on the housing market in January 2005, a daring prediction that, given enough time and the inherent cyclical nature of, well, everything, would eventually prove remarkably… timely.
Indeed, the grand unveiling of a forthcoming recession in early 2007 stands as another monument to the blogosphere’s capacity for foresight, proving that if you predict enough eventualities, one or two are bound to land squarely in the realm of "after the fact" accuracy. While the global economy continues its frantic dance of boom and bust, our intrepid chronicler of impending doom is, we understand, currently on a well-deserved vacation, presumably recharging for another two decades of observing the obvious. Such dedication to the long game is truly inspiring, if not entirely novel.
